Hyvä relaunch for Industriearmaturen-Shop24: ready for Magento 2.4.8

Industriearmaturen-Shop24 has grown steadily over the years. The Magento 2 shop now includes a huge catalog, numerous product attributes, and complex requirements for search and filtering. A technical overhaul was long overdue. 

The goals were clear: improve frontend performance, make the theme maintainable, and increase security – including regular malware scans.

The project was a true team effort: Storetown Media prepared the rebuild for Magento 2.4.8 and implemented Hyvä as a modern, lean frontend theme. In parallel, maxcluster provided the specialized hosting infrastructure for Magento and Hyvä and safeguarded the project with technical support, live monitoring, and regular security checks.

The result: a modernized foundation with Magento 2.4.8, significantly reduced frontend bloat, and a stable basis for future optimizations in search, filtering, and performance.

Industriearmaturen-Shop24 is a Magento 2 shop in the industrial supplies sector. The system has grown over several years and includes an extensive product catalog with many attributes, technical product data, and correspondingly complex requirements for search, filtering, and product presentation.

In day-to-day operations, that became the key issue: the frontend needed to be faster, the theme more maintainable, and the technical foundation overall more future-proof, secure, and cleanly operable.

Several requirements came together in this project: technical modernization, improved frontend performance, less complexity in the theme, and a clean foundation for Magento 2.4.8. At the same time, the installation had to be operated securely – including regular malware scans, technical checks, and the cleanup of suspicious files.

The goal was a fast, maintainable Magento store with better user guidance, a clear product structure, and optimized search. This also included a hosting foundation that reliably supports day-to-day operations and doesn’t slow down further development.

The choice fell on Hyvä because, compared to classic Magento front ends, the theme is built much leaner. Less JavaScript, fewer legacy technical burdens—and therefore better conditions for optimal performance. Especially in a shop with many technical products, it matters that users can quickly reach the right category, variant, or product page.

Hyvä also provides a stronger foundation for maintenance and further development. The shop is intended to be expanded over the long term, so changes need to be implemented efficiently and without unnecessary side effects. At the time this case study was created, the Hyvä setup was being implemented or rebuilt on Magento 2.4.8 and is part of the technical modernization.

A technical rebuild on Magento 2.4.8 with Hyvä was prepared for Industriearmaturen-Shop24. In the first step, the existing Magento installation, the extensions used, product data, attributes, categories, and technical dependencies were reviewed. Then a new, clean project base was created.

Hyvä served as a modern frontend theme to reduce old theme structures, unnecessary JavaScript load, and technical legacy issues.

The most important measures:

• Setup of a clean Magento 2.4.8 environment
• Integration of Hyvä as the new frontend
• Review of existing extensions for compatibility
• Preparation of a clearer category and product structure
• Optimization of search, filtering, and navigation
• Technical review of the existing system for security risks
• Regular malware scans and cleanup of suspicious files
• Preparation of a stable environment for caching, deployment, and ongoing maintenance

This addressed the challenges through a controlled rebuild—with the goal of creating a foundation that is more scalable, more secure, and easier to maintain.

Since the Hyvä rebuild was still being implemented at the time this case study was created, no final live metrics from production operations are available yet. However, initial measurable results are already emerging at the technical level.
