Hyvä is a newly developed base theme for Magento 2 that was created independently of the standard themes “Luma” and “Blank.” The goal is a lean, modern frontend that requires less code and can be delivered faster.
Instead of KnockoutJS and LESS, Hyvä relies on TailwindCSS, PostCSS, and Alpine.js, among others. Layout elements are reduced, and ViewModels replace many classic blocks. The result is a reduced frontend that forms the basis for fast, easily maintainable Magento 2 shops.
Hyvä Themes is compatible with Magento Open-Source version 2.4 and above. If your project is already based on this version or is being upgraded to it, Hyvä can be used.
Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce) is also supported. For commerce projects, we recommend checking the current Hyvä feature matrix to see which features are already covered and where individual template or module development is still required.
Extensions that only provide backend functions or business logic can usually continue to be used without modification. Modifications are mainly required for modules that come with their own frontend templates, blocks, or extensive theme customizations.

Yes. Hyvä does not have any special requirements for the server environment, so Magento 2 projects can be run on maxcluster without any additional adjustments. The technical basis remains identical to other Magento 2 setups.

The Hyvä theme is usually integrated into your Magento 2 project via Composer. To complete this, the access data for the Hyvä repository is stored, the package is installed, and Magento is updated using the familiar CLI commands. The individual steps are described in the Hyvä documentation.
